Three steps
- Find the official formula in the university's prospectus.
- Convert each component to obtained / total %.
- Multiply by the formula weight, sum, round to 2 decimals.
Worked example — KEMU
- Matric 1000/1100 = 90.91% × 0.10 = 9.09
- FSc 1020/1100 = 92.73% × 0.40 = 37.09
- MDCAT 178/200 = 89.00% × 0.50 = 44.50
- Aggregate = 90.68% (tight for KEMU open merit)
